Day 1: Historic Lisbon & the Charms of Belém

Your private tour begins with an exploration of Alfama, the oldest part of the city, famous for its narrow alleys and Fado. We will visit São Jorge Castle, a remnant of Arab civilization, and the Lisbon Cathedral, built in Romanesque style, which marks the birthplace of Saint Anthony. In the downtown Baixa district, we will understand the importance of Pombaline architecture, which emerged after the 1755 earthquake.

Day 2: Romantic Sintra, Cascais & the Estoril Coast

On the second day, we will visit the mystical town of Sintra. We suggest a visit inside the Pena Palace (buy tickets for 9:30 AM or 10:00 AM). Afterward, you will have free time to explore Sintra's historic center, its narrow streets, and craft shops, with a mandatory stop to try the famous Travesseiros at Pastelaria Piriquita.

Day 3: Journey to Alentejo & the Charms of Évora

We start the day at a cork factory, where we will learn about the extraction process of the cork oak tree, whose bark is harvested every nine years (Portugal is responsible for 55% of world production). Next, we head to Évora, a stunning medieval town that attracts thousands of visitors. The Chapel of Bones is a major highlight, with its walls lined with human bones.

Day 4: Central Route: Walled Óbidos, Faith of Fátima & Academic Coimbra

We begin the day in Óbidos, a UNESCO World Heritage site, exploring its narrow walled streets and tasting the famous ginja liqueur in a chocolate cup. We continue to Fátima, one of the most important Marian Sanctuaries in the world, where we will visit the Chapel of the Apparitions, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosario, and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, which houses the tombs of the shepherd children. Afterward, we arrive in Coimbra, the "City of Students," where we will visit the University Palace and the stunning Joanina Library from 1728, famous for its baroque architecture.

Day 5: The Canals of Aveiro, Costa Nova & Arrival in Porto

We leave Coimbra toward Aveiro, known as the "Portuguese Venice" due to its beautiful canals. We will explore the historic center, filled with Art Nouveau buildings and the market designed by Gustave Eiffel. You will have time to try the traditional ovos-moles pastries and take a relaxing cruise on a moliceiro boat.

Day 6: The Charm of Porto, Lello Bookstore & the Wine Cellars of Gaia

We dedicate the entire day to Porto, Portugal's second-largest city. We start at the modern Casa da Música, then continue to Matosinhos and Foz. In downtown Porto, we will walk along Avenida dos Aliados and visit the beautiful São Bento Station, famous for its 20,000 historic tile panels.

Day 7: Discovering Minho: Medieval Guimarães & the Faith of Braga

We immerse ourselves in the birthplace of the nation in Guimarães, a World Heritage site. We visit the Castle, the Church of São Miguel, the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança, and stunning medieval squares like São Tiago (don't miss trying a Santa Clara pastry). In the afternoon, we head to Braga, where modernity blends with Roman heritage.

Day 8: Upper Douro Route: Amarante, Vila Real & the Scenic Pinhão Landscape

We begin our journey in Amarante, visiting the Church and Convent of São Gonçalo (the matchmaking saint) and admiring the historic 18th-century bridge over the Tâmega River. We continue to the Alto Douro Wine Region, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will take in breathtaking views from the Casal de Loivos Viewpoint and visit the beautiful Pinhão Train Station, which displays tile panels detailing the history of wine production.

Day 9: Monumental Lamego, the Peak of Serra da Estrela & the Stone Village of Monsanto

We start the day in Lamego with a visit to the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, famous for its monumental 18th-century baroque staircase. Next, we ascend Serra da Estrela to the Torre, the highest point in continental Portugal (1,993 meters of altitude). We will stop in Seia to visit the Bread Museum, dedicated to preserving the heritage of Portuguese breadmaking.

Day 10: Knights Templar Tomar, the Relics of Santarém & Return to Lisbon

We depart for Tomar, the historic city of the Knights Templar. We will explore its medieval section, passing through Republic Square and the Mother Church. You will have time to discover traditional shops and sample traditional Fatias de Tomar sweets.
