Day 1: Historic Lisbon & the Charms of Belém

Your private tour begins with an exploration of Alfama, the oldest part of the city, famous for its narrow alleys and Fado. We will visit São Jorge Castle, a remnant of Arab civilization, and the Lisbon Cathedral, built in Romanesque style, which marks the birthplace of Saint Anthony. In the downtown Baixa district, we will understand the importance of Pombaline architecture, which emerged after the 1755 earthquake.

Day 2: Romantic Sintra, Cascais & the Estoril Coast

We will visit the mystical town of Sintra. We suggest a visit inside the Pena Palace (buy tickets for 9:30 AM or 10:00 AM). Afterward, you will have free time to explore Sintra's historic center, its narrow streets, and craft shops, with a mandatory stop to try the famous Travesseiros at Pastelaria Piriquita.

Day 3: Journey to Alentejo & the Charms of Évora

We start the day at a cork factory, where we will learn about the extraction process of the cork oak tree, whose bark is harvested every nine years (Portugal is responsible for 55% of world production). Next, we head to Évora, a stunning medieval town that attracts thousands of visitors. The Chapel of Bones is a major highlight, with its walls lined with human bones.

Day 4: Central Route: Walled Óbidos, Faith of Fátima & Academic Coimbra

We begin the day in Óbidos, a UNESCO World Heritage site, exploring its narrow walled streets and tasting the famous ginja liqueur in a chocolate cup. We continue to Fátima, one of the most important Marian Sanctuaries in the world, where we will visit the Chapel of the Apparitions, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosario, and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, which houses the tombs of the shepherd children. Afterward, we arrive in Coimbra, the "City of Students," where we will visit the University Palace and the stunning Joanina Library from 1728, famous for its baroque architecture.

Day 5: The Canals of Aveiro, Costa Nova & Arrival in Porto

We leave Coimbra toward Aveiro, known as the "Portuguese Venice" due to its beautiful canals. We will explore the historic center, filled with Art Nouveau buildings and the market designed by Gustave Eiffel. You will have time to try the traditional ovos-moles pastries and take a relaxing cruise on a moliceiro boat.

Day 6: The Charm of Porto, Lello Bookstore & the Wine Cellars of Gaia

We dedicate the entire day to Porto, Portugal's second-largest city. We start at the modern Casa da Música, then continue to Matosinhos and Foz. In downtown Porto, we will walk along Avenida dos Aliados and visit the beautiful São Bento Station, famous for its 20,000 historic tile panels.

Day 7: Santiago de Compostela & Galician Charms

Today we leave Porto and head towards Galicia, Spain, beginning with a visit to Vigo, where we can stroll through the famous Pescadería. You may even choose to have lunch in one of the local restaurants and try the iconic oysters from the Vigo estuary, traditionally served fresh with just a touch of lemon and a good wine. We then continue to Santiago de Compostela, an emblematic city that welcomes pilgrims from all over the world seeking peace and spirituality along the Camino de Santiago.

Day 8: Discovering Minho: Birthplace of Guimarães & Faith of Braga

Guimarães, the first capital of Portugal, will be our first stop. We will explore the historic city, where the statue of King Afonso Henriques welcomes us. We will visit the Guimarães Castle, the Church of São Miguel, and the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança, walking through the medieval streets that still preserve the atmosphere of centuries past, ending in the most iconic squares such as São Tiago, Toural, and Oliveira (take time to taste the traditional Santa Clara pastry).

Day 9: Upper Douro Route: Amarante & the Pinhão Landscapes

We leave Porto and drive to Amarante, where we will visit its historic center, with ancient streets, traditional houses, and the beautiful scenery along the river and the S. Gonçalo bridge. For architecture lovers, Amarante offers several examples of Romanesque style and medieval constructions, including the Church and Convent of São Gonçalo and the Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso Museum.

Day 10: Douro Valley, the Peaks of Serra da Estrela & Monsanto Stone Village

Today we leave the Douro Valley and head toward Monsanto. Before that, we will stop in the Serra da Estrela, the highest point in mainland Portugal and the country’s largest protected natural park, featuring deep valleys, crystal-clear rivers, and a strong pastoral tradition. It is home to the famous Serra da Estrela handmade cheese, boasting an unmistakable flavor and quality.

Day 11: Knights Templar Tomar & the Hilltop Village of Marvão

Today we travel from Monsanto to Tomar to understand the importance of the Order of the Templars in the formation of Portugal. We will visit the impressive Convent of Christ (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), highlighting the Charola — the 12th-century octagonal Templar church — and the famous Manueline Chapter Window, a true masterpiece. We will also visit the Church of Santa Maria do Olival, the historic pantheon of the Templar masters.

Day 12: Estremoz "White City" & Arrival in Historic Évora

Estremoz, known as the “white city” of the Alentejo, owes its name to its bright houses and the numerous marble quarries that have made it one of the world’s leading producers. Protected by two rings of walls, we will explore the Old Town, the 13th-century medieval Castle, the former Royal Palace, and Dom José I Square, famous for its traditional market. We then continue to Évora, a city shaped by centuries of history, from its narrow streets of Arab origin to the golden age of the Discoveries.

Day 13: Évora Traditions, Cork Factory & Monsaraz Village

Today we continue exploring Évora, visiting the places we didn’t have time to see the day before, along with an exclusive visit to a cork factory. Cork is the bark of the cork oak, harvested every nine years, and Portugal proudly produces 55% of the world’s supply. We then continue to Monsaraz, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Portugal, with cobblestone streets, whitewashed houses, and an atmosphere that transports visitors back in time.

Day 14: Arrábida Natural Park, Tile Factory & Return to Lisbon

We conclude this grand tour by crossing the Arrábida Natural Park, which reveals a stunning contrast between white limestone cliffs, lush green mountains, and the turquoise sea, washing over gorgeous beaches like Portinho da Arrábida and Galapinhos. To celebrate the country's rich artistic tile heritage, we will visit a traditional artisanal tile factory to learn about the molding and painting process, and even paint your own tile. We continue to Setúbal, a city deeply connected to the sea and fishing traditions, where we will stroll through the historic center and Bocage Square, filled with outdoor cafés.
